Sustainment, Restoration, Modernization (SRM)

This secondary containment system is designed to prevent migration of fuel in the event of a spill from a large aboveground tank. STEP repaired this basin with rebar and concrete, using fuel resistant sealants to prevent deterioration.
At military facilities across the country, buildings and facilities require not only upkeep and repair, but also require modern upgrades to keep pace with today’s requirements and regulations. STEP provides all aspects of SRM:
- Sustainment: maintaining facilities as they are, including inspections, preventative maintenance, and minor repairs.
- Restoration: improving facilities to current day standards.
- Modernization: upgrading existing buildings or facilities to support a different purpose than originally intended.
Examples of STEP’s recent SRM work at Government sites include:
- visitor center renovations,
- tank and fuel line repair,
- secondary containment construction & repair,
- installation of building utilities,
- design of a petroleum operations building,
- demolition and replacement of aircraft fueling pads,
- replacement of bulk fuel farm structures,
- wastewater treatment facility construction, and
- demolishing and removing obsolete equipment.
